Good morning, friends! I
’m curled up with my coffee this Sunday and my Bible open to a verse that’s been a lifeline lately: “Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10). It’s simple, but it’s hit me hard this week. Life’s been a whirlwind—errands, noise, a million little things—but this? This is an invitation to stop and rest in Him. Anyone else craving that too?
I’ve been scrolling Twitter lately, and I keep seeing Christians talk about this—finding peace in God’s presence. One grabbed me: “Rest isn’t lazy; it’s trusting God’s enough.” That’s been simmering in my prayers. I don’t know about you, but I’m not great at slowing down. My mind races, my to-do list grows. But this verse keeps pulling me back: Be still. He’s got it. He’s God.
This week, I’ve been trying to live that out. Mornings with my coffee, I’ve been whispering, “Lord, I’m here—help me rest in You.” Sometimes it’s just a minute, sometimes longer, but it shifts something. Yesterday, I caught myself stressing over a small thing—then I paused, breathed, and leaned on that truth. It’s not magic; it’s Him. What’s your way of finding that stillness—coffee and a verse, a walk, a quiet prayer?
I’ve been flipping through a devotional that’s been a steady companion lately—link on home page. It’s got these short reflections that remind me to pause, and it’s been a gift on hectic days. Yesterday, I scribbled in my journal: “Thankful for His peace, a slow morning, this moment.” Nothing big, but it grounds me. Maybe you’ve got a go-to that helps you rest in Him—I’d love to hear it.
And here’s a little piece of my day: I’ve been taking small steps to care for myself too. Winter’s been rough on my skin, and I’ve been using this body lotion—Tukuma— while praying. It’s not much, just a way to say, “Thanks, Lord, for this body You made” (1 Cor. 6:19). It feels like a tiny reset, a moment to be still.
So this Sunday, whether you’re in a pew or at home with a playlist, can we try it? Pause. Rest in Him. For me, it’s this prayer: “Lord, I’m letting go—You’re enough.” What’s yours? Tweet it and tag me @cmgrafmiller if you feel like sharing—we could all use the reminder. Here’s to a day wrapped in His peace.
Praying you feel Him close this morning,
