Faith Through the Storm

Storms don’t send a RSVP. They crash into our lives uninvited—whether it’s a health scare, a financial hit, or a heart bruised by loss. Today, I woke up feeling the wind howl a little louder than usual, metaphorically speaking. Maybe you did too. But here’s the truth that steadies me: our faith isn’t shaken by the storm—it’s shaped by it.
Jesus didn’t promise calm seas every day. In Matthew 7:24-27, He tells us about two houses—one built on rock, one on sand. The rain fell, the floods came, the winds beat against both. The difference? The rock-held house stood firm. That rock is our faith, anchored in Him. Storms test it, but they don’t topple it.
This morning, I clung to Psalm 107:29—“He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed.” It’s not just poetry; it’s a promise. God doesn’t always stop the thunder, but He hushes the chaos in our hearts. I prayed that over my coffee today: Lord, whisper peace into this mess. And He did—slowly, like dawn creeping over a dark night.
Here’s what I’m learning: faith isn’t about dodging the rain—it’s about dancing in it. James 1:2-3 says to “consider it pure joy” when trials hit, because they build endurance. I’m not there yet—joy in the downpour? Tough sell. But I’m trusting God’s got the umbrella, even if I can’t see it.
So today, I’m praying for you in your storm. Maybe it’s raging, maybe it’s just a drizzle. Either way, He’s there. Grab a verse—Isaiah 43:2 is gold: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you.” Write it down, pray it out loud, let it sink in. And if you’ve got a minute, tell me: what’s your storm right now? What’s keeping your faith steady?
Let’s hold fast together. The winds might howl, but our Rock doesn’t budge.
In His peace,
God is our Rock and Fortress!
Jesus is Ever present with us in the Storms of life...reaching out His hand...all we need to do is call His Name! The Storms may rage on for a time but He is able to still us and give us peace that surpasses our understanding! And the Light He brings after the Storms remind us of His faithfulness!❤🤗🙏
